This months Loops of Learning invites you to come watch the Annual Reconciliation Lecture Live Stream from Fed Square on the 13th July 2023 and stay to discuss the Voice to Parliament referendum. Loops of Learning supports the YES vote, but invites all ideas and offers a safe space to share.

About the event

Federation University Australia and the National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth, and Justice will be live streaming the Inaugural Federation University Annual Reconciliation Lecture.

This annual major public lecture aims to increase understandings of reconciliation, truth, and justice, among the wider community. It is hosted by Professor Duncan Bentley, Vice-Chancellor and President, and Professor Andrew Gunstone, Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Reconciliation.

Prominent Indigenous leader Noel Pearson will be speaking. He comes from the Guugu Yimidhirr community of Hopevale on South Eastern Cape York Peninsula. Noel is one of Australia’s most influential Indigenous lawyers and activists and has, for many years, campaigned tirelessly on behalf of Indigenous people. Noel is the Founder of the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership, Founder and Director of Strategy of the Cape York Partnership, Founder and Co-Chair of Good to Great Schools Australia, and Co-Founder of the Cape York Land Council. Noel was a member of the Expert Panel on Constitutional Recognition of Indigenous Australians, a member of the Referendum Council, and a member of the Indigenous Voice Co-Design Senior Advisory Group. He is currently a member of the Federal Government’s Referendum Working Group, and the Referendum Engagement Group.

The Lecture will be lived streamed and then we'll open for discussion on the Voice to Parliament referendum.
